Course Details


Mechanical is a core branch of engineering. With an objective to develop highly competent human resources in Mechanical Engineering Profession, department is equipped with up to date infrastructure and well equipped Laboratories like.

To develop skills in manufacturing and fabrication, department have a well equipped Central Workshop. Students are trained on specialized facilities as per the AICTE norms such as Lathe M/C, Drilling M/C, Milling M/C, Power Hacksaws, Different welding methods and technique. Workshop includes various section viz. fitting, carpentry, welding, smithy, plumbing, machine shop, moulding etc. The laboratories and workshop in the department is well equipped to fulfil the need of undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The emphasis is on making students familiar with theoretical and practical aspects of various fields of Mechanical Engineering. The course is designed keeping in view industrial and research needs. Flexibility in curriculum is provided through Electives, Seminars and Projects. Industrial relations further enhance our creditability, hence industry based projects is a common practice.

Along with all curricular activities department run extracurricular activities through MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) to enhance student's knowledge and confidence.

MESA conducted industrial visits & training which built up student's practical knowledge also they become familiar to industrial environment.

Career Scope


Mechanical Engineering is a core branch of engineering and a rapidly diversifying field, encompassing areas such as robotics, automated manufacturing, biological molecular machines, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, computational mechanics, Composite materials and Tribology. Mechanical Engineering department is always in a practice to impart Technical Knowledge to students so that students can make their career in a wide spectrum of industries such as Transportation industry (automotive, rail, air and marine), heavy machinery (machines producing other machines), the power industry, the environmental industry (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), the light precision-machine enterprises (optical and prosthetic devices, mechanical instruments, and the like)

  • Teaching with modern aids like LCD projectors and audio visual means.
  • CNC Lathe, CNC Milling and Six axis Robot are available in Automation Engineering Lab.
  • Well equipped Computer Lab with 50 PC's having internet facility and relevant software.
  • Well equipped workshop and laboratories.
  • Well maintained departmental library.
  • Different extra curricular activities are conducted for developing skills of students through departmental students cell Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA).

  • Developing practical skills by Industrial Training Programs, Workshops and Industrial Visits.
  • Regular Upgradation of Laboratories as per advancements in AICTE Curriculam.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is committed to:
  1. Produce job ready engineers in the field of production, design, thermal, industrial and automation engineering by imparting basic sciences and engineering education.
  2. Nurture student with creativeness, innovativeness and entrepreneurship skills to develop out-of-the-box thinking respond effectively to the needs of the industry and the ever changing world scenario.
  3. Offer state of art undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programme.

PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVE (PEO)

PEO.1

Acquire the fundamental knowledge in Basic Sciences, Thermal, Design, Mechanical Software and Manufacturing Technologies.

Develop an ability to interpret and analyze data, formulate and design acceptable solutions to industrial problems.

Become competent to apply core engineering knowledge and abilities to solve the technical and societal problems in ethical manner, satisfying the needs of industry and society.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

PO1

Engineering knowledge:  Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering      fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2

Problem  analysis:  Identify,  formulate,  review  research  literature,  and  analyze  complex engineering  problems  reaching  substantiated  conclusions  using  first  principles  of  mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3

Design/development  of  solutions:  Design  solutions  for  complex  engineering  problems  and design  system  components  or  processes  that  meet  the  specified  needs  with  appropriate consideration  for  the  public  health  and  safety,  and  the  cultural,  societal,  and  environmental considerations.

PO4

Conduct investigations of complex problems:  Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern  tool  usage:  Create,  select,  and  apply  appropriate  techniques,  resources,  and  modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The  engineer  and  society:  Apply  reasoning  informed  by  the  contextual  knowledge  to  assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
